A Snapshot of The ECO4 Scheme
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) began in January 2013 and we are now in the fourth version of the scheme, known widely as ECO4. ECO is a Government scheme to obligate the largest suppliers of gas and electricity to deliver energy efficient measures to domestic premises in Great Britain. The scheme is funded by the 17 largest energy companies who have been obligated to provide funding for heating and insulation improvements.
Policy Duration:
ECO4 runs from
April 2022 to March 2026.
Budget:
The scheme is
worth £4 billion.
Innovation Rewards:
Uplifts for innovative improvements.
ELIGIBILITY:
Low-Income Households: Those receiving means-tested benefits qualify.
ECO4 Flex: Targets low-income households not receiving benefits.
Energy Efficiency Bands: Homes in bands D-G are eligible.
MEASURES SUPPORTED:
Solid Wall Insulation: A minimum target of 90,000 measures.
Heating Upgrades: Efficient heating systems can replace broken boilers and electric storage heating.
