The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a government-backed initiative helping homeowners in England and Wales transition to cleaner, more efficient heating systems. If you're ready to ditch fossil fuels, this is your moment.
What You Can Get
Eligible property owners can receive upfront grants of:
£7,500 off the cost and installation of an air source heat pump
£7,500 off a ground source heat pump
£5,000 off a biomass boiler (rural, off-gas grid only)
These grants help cover the cost of replacing oil, gas, electric, or LPG heating systems with low-carbon alternatives.
Who's Eligible?
You may be qualify if:
Your property is in England or Wales
You’re replacing a fossil fuel heating system
Your home has a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
Your installation is under 45kWth capacity
You’re not applying for BUS funding on a new-build or social housing (self-builds are eligible)
